HotLeap™ allows any OrgAdmin user to create a template to be synced out to a handheld device. Simple templates can be built and used as many times as needed. By creating templates internally, companies do not have to worry about the cost of work done by HotButton or have a wait period to get the template out onto the handhelds.

Building the template is done very easily with many features available:
1. The template is assigned a name.
2. A user then decides whether the reading will apply to today's or yesterday's date.
3. The template is created by selecting the data capture format on the left hand side of the screen. The selected format will show in the middle screen how it will look on the handheld. Formats that are available are as follows: Heading, Number, Decimal, Short Text, Comment, Date, Time, Check Box, Pick List and Pass/Fail.
4. For each data format the right hand side screen shows all of the different options that are available to customize the data point. Options include: Minimum and Maximum setting, unit selection, graphing options to apply to the history of the data point, font characteristics, and more.
Templates can be reordered by dragging the data point to the desired order. Operators also have the option of changing the template on their handheld by selecting the Tools menu on the handheld when the template is open.
